We all know that being a Police Officer is a dangerous job. However, people applying for that job also know how dangerous it is. But when using lethal force, excuses like I was afraid for my life, I thought it was a Taser, he was resisting arrest, and he was fleeing the scene, do not call for the death penalty. Also, passing a counterfeit $20 bill, stealing a pack of cigarettes, having an air freshener hanging from your rearview mirror, and not taking an extra second or two to clearly identify a lethal weapon before killing the suspect, is also an unnecessary use of lethal force. These situations are more indicative of inadequate job screening, failed psychological testing, inadequate job training, poor judgment, racism, and cowardice. Prospective applicants to any police department that rely on these excuses should be weeded out from the application process and never allowed to be police officers. You can’t have nervous or trigger-happy police officers in control of lethal weapons.

GUN-RELATED DEATHS

The Memorial Fund’s report says gun-related deaths claimed the lives of 48 officers last year, a 6% decline compared to 51 officers killed in gun-related incidents in 2019.

Of the 48 officer gun-related deaths, 11 fatalities involved an officer investigating a suspicious person or activity, seven officers were killed responding to domestic disturbance calls, six deaths each involved officers attempting an arrest and an ambush on the officers, three deaths were tactical situations, and three others were in response to domestic disturbance calls.

Four officers died responding to a robbery or burglary in-progress call while three officers were killed during traffic stops. Two officers were killed last year while serving warrants, two others were killed by inadvertent gunfire and one police officer was killed by firearms while responding to a mental health call.

RACIAL DISPARITY IN POLICE SHOOTINGS

Compare those 48 police officers killed in 2020 to 457 White suspects killed and 241 Black suspects killed by police. Whites represent over 60% of the population and Blacks represent only 14% of the population. With only 14% of the population, Blacks killed represent about 50% as much as Whites killed. This fact clearly shows there is a problem with how police assess threat and administer lethal force. They either are afraid of Blacks, they are racist, or they simply don’t know how to properly do their job. These numbers are ironic considering the number of White people who love their guns, commit heinous crimes like murder, serial killing, mass killings, are members of right wing military groups, and overran the United States Capital on January 6, 2021. Republican voters and legislators have downplayed the absolute fact that White people tried to overthrow the government. They made all sorts of excuses that these were not Trump voters, they were Antifa and other left-wingers pretending to be Trump voters. The bottom line however is, those folks were White. FBI STATISTICS ON MURDER

As you can see by the above graphs and websites, White people in the US are very lethal and dangerous. According to the FBI murder statistics, Whites kill Whites, Blacks kill Blacks, Hispanics kill Hispanics, etc. As far as any White person is concerned, you should be more concerned and afraid of someone in your own race, than someone in any other race. And that’s where Law Enforcement should focus, on the most dangerous threat in the US, White people. Police Officers and White people in general don’t see the inherent threat and dangers of the White race. Senator Ron Johnson sums this point up. Black Lives Matter protestors went to the Capital and were met by military force. Protestors at the US Capital on January 6, 2021 were met by a skeleton crew of Capital Police. I guess Senator Johnson finally saw that White people can be very dangerous and lethal.

Now that we know the numbers, what can we do to make things better for everyone. First we have to get rid of the idea of defunding the police and abolishing the police. Those are truly crazy far left ideas. The next thing we need to do is thorough background checks of police applicants, thorough psychological profiles, rule out applicants that are hard up for money, and if possible focus on applicants with prior community service or educational service. Finally, once hired, the applicant should receive intense training with a focus on the use of lethal weapons, and have regularly scheduled re-qualifying and retraining at least 2 times a year. This training should also include some type of racial sensitivity training at least once a year. The overall initial training should last somewhere between 6 to 12 months before the officer is placed on the street. That is still far less time training than in other professions.

Regarding the use of lethal force, there should be a national federal standard. In non-violent crimes, no lethal force should be used unless a lethal weapon is clearly identified, and that weapon is not surrendered when ordered to do so. If there clearly is no weapon, and the officer feels like he cannot handle the situation, he should call for backup. In the case of the suspect trying to flee, the use of the Taser should be approved. If the suspect is handcuffed and subdued, and lethal force is used after the suspect is subdued, those officers should be charged with manslaughter or murder. Excuses like I was afraid for my life, I thought it was a Taser, he was running from the scene, are all invalid reasons for using lethal force or avoiding the manslaughter or murder charge. Of course, more agencies and individuals will have to agree on the specifics of a national lethal weapon standard, but it should be no more complicated than what I have outlined here.

These simple changes should help protect all Americans of every race from the unnecessary use of lethal force. It’s time the police were held accountable for racism, laziness, inactivity, uncontrollable nervousness, being trigger happy, poor training, and poor judgment. Let me make this perfectly clear. I believe the overwhelming majority of police officers are decent, hard-working, caring, honest, and are good at their job. We all know however, that police officers are a tightknit group that protect their own, good or bad. It’s time to flip the script and get the bad seed out of the police department and let the good thrive.

Stop Killing Us

There is no question that America is the greatest country in the world. It is filled with the promise of a good life, liberty, the pursuit of happiness, and the hope of a true union of the people of the United States.  But the killing of Mr. George Floyd in Minneapolis, Minnesota by a police officer who strangled him to death with his knee on his neck, diminishes America’s greatness. This event underscores the fact that racism remains endemic in America. For those of you who think that people of color are exaggerating how serious and frequent racist treatment occurs on almost a daily basis in housing, jobs, retail, and the criminal justice system, this is a clear statement that racism is alive and well in America. Mr. Floyd was arrested for an alleged counterfeiting crime. The crime he was arrested for does not carry with it the death sentence if convicted. Mr. Floyd likely resisted arrest but he was subdued, handcuffed, thrown on the ground, and a knee was placed on his neck for about nine minutes with three other policemen watching. Mr. Floyd told the officers he couldn’t breathe. Passers by informed the officers that Mr. Floyd was struggling to breathe. Thankfully the police officer who killed him was charged with murder and the other 3 officers have charges pending. This is a necessary  initial first step, but how can Americans continue to ignore racism and allow it to destroy our union from within?

Until we the people acknowledge that racism is a cancer in America, that left unchecked, it will absolutely usher in the chaos of Democracy and the the death of our Republic. The U.S. Constitution states that all men are created equal. When it was written, people of color were not treated as equals. Over the years since the Constitution was written, equality was legislated into the constitution but has not been enforced fairly or equally. It is time that equal protection under the law be enforced. It doesn’t make a difference if a citizen, law enforcement, or the military chokes the life out of someone with a knee on the neck for nine minutes, it is murder. Of course if there is an enemy in war or well documented self defense, a charge of murder is not warranted.

With regards to the riot that followed Mr. Floyd’s murder, there is no justification for burning and looting. There were a few people among a crowd of mostly peaceful protesters who triggered the riot. Those few should be brought to justice and prosecuted. The anger is understood, but peaceful protest is the only way to eradicate racism. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr proved that. We just need to use his blueprint to stamp out the last vestiges of racism and social injustice. Most Americans know racism is still a problem in America, but too few of you have voiced your concerns. This is a time in America’s history that we have to speak in one clear and committed voice that racism will no longer be tolerated, and equal justice under the law will be the standard everyone will be judged by.

Racism in America, simply put, is overwhelmingly white people taking advantage of and exerting force upon people of color. Why racism exist is more difficult to define. My guess is that throughout history, white people have dominated the world through theft, intimidation, and murder. Once civilization evolved to have rules, domination became less easy to maintain legally, and that  began to balance the power. Though the balance of power was becoming more equal legally, whites still maintained the advantage of the weapons of death and they used them liberally. Whites want to keep their advantage of overall power and are willing to kill to keep it. Other whites, because of ignorance and propaganda, fear people of color and sometimes kill because they think people of color will harm them “I was afraid for my life”.  White people, understand that people of color are not out to get you. Just stop the killing. They just want the promise the Constitution gives of Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness. If you don’t believe me check the FBI statistics on murder. As you can see, you are more likely to be harmed or killed by a white person than any other race. Beware of your neighbor, brother, sister, cousin, and white strangers. These are the people who are harming, stealing from, and killing you the most. This truth is true for every race. People are at more risk from people of their own race than people of other races.

So if you truly want a United States of America filled with truth, justice,  and equality, then you want to stamp out racism. This is your call to do and say everything you can, whenever you can, to make sure racism is relegated to the history books. Only when this is done will America be truly great. We can do better. Trump thinks Immigration is a National Emergency and wants his wall built because immigrants murder Americans when they cross the border, have drugs pouring into the U.S., and terrorist and gang members  are among them. Trump blames the Democrats for currently blocking a wall budget, but Republicans really don’t  want a wall because:

  1. For the past 2 years, Republicans had total control of the House, Senate, and the Presidency.  They did not need a single Democratic vote, but did not budget any money to build a wall.

  2. Trump was recorded saying he accepts the responsibility for shutting down the government and won’t blame the Democrats. Of course he changed his mind and now he blames the Democrats for the Government shutdown. 

  3. Even though the Democratic House and Republican Senate passed similar Bills to fund the Government, Trump refused to sign the bills after listening to FOX pundits.

The National Emergency can’t be Americans being murdered by immigrants, because immigrants are not murdering our school children (some as young as 6 years old) , killing 58 and wounding 500+ people in Las Vegas, or committing serial killings all over the country. That would be White American men mostly. When you add Women, Black, and Hispanic Americans who also kill, far more Americans are being murdered by American Citizens. That’s the National Emergency. Trump and the Republicans barely made a whisper about Americans killing each other, especially when it involved gun violence. Shame on the Republican politicians and voters who look the other way.

Yes lots of drugs are flowing through our Southern Border, but the immigrants are not forcing Americans to take those drugs. Even if there was a wall, Americans that want to abuse drugs or other substances would find a way. Nothing will stop them. Remember Prohibition, glue sniffing, and more recently Cheese (Black Tar Heroin, Tylenol PM, and Xanax), Crunk (Soda, Cough Syrup, and Prescription pain killers), Bath Salts, Hand Sanitizer, and Wasping (Insecticide). The last 4 are homemade, no border necessary).

Gangs are a big problem, but it’s mostly American Gangs. Gangs crossing the Southern Border represent only a small percent of the illegal aliens. This U.S. Customs & Border Patrol (CBP) link itemizes the different gangs they apprehend. The MS-13 gang represents just over 370 arrest in 2018. Trump said that number was in the thousands. Three hundred is hardly a National Emergency.

Finally, what about terrorist crossing the Southern Border? Again the Republicans lied and said the number was in the thousands. For 2018, it was only 6. Again, no emergency.

Republicans can’t govern even with majorities in the House, Senate, and the Presidency. So why should we trust them now that they lost the House of Representatives. They are very good at misdirection, half-truths, and lying. And of course, they have the liar in chief, President Trump. You don’t have to believe that Trump is colluding with Russia or obstructing the Russian investigation to know that he is dirty. There are too many people around Trump who resign or are fired because of misappropriating Federal funds, are indicted and  plead guilty to felonies, and are sentenced to prison terms. Trump hand picked most of those people. There is no way he could surround himself with that many dirty people and he does not get dirty. Of course, Trump has to be dirty too. Even  5 year olds know if people around them are bad. I think Trump picked those dirty people so he could control them when he started doing his dirty deeds, and Trump is using the immigrants to deflect the spotlight off of himself.  Donald, there is nowhere to hide now. Do yourself a favor and resign. What was I thinking? You can’t resign because, as an unindicted co conspirator in a felony, you will go to jail as Michael Cohen’s cellmate.  I’d stay President as long as I could too. Good luck with that.

Remember this guy. America was quieter and safer then.  He wasn’t perfect, but he was competent, he had compassion, empathy, and didn’t lie much.  Those were the days!!!!

Let’s review. President Bush put our economy in the worst recession since the great depression by starting a war, giving tax cuts to the rich, and allowing unchecked Congressional spending. Those actions lead to millions of jobs lost with high unemployment, failing financial institutions worldwide, a depressed housing market, millions of people on food stamps, and the deaths of American servicemen. On FOX News, Hannity blames President Obama. After Obama’s first year in office, all those negative numbers started to improve, and continued to improve until President Trump took over. When Trump took over, on day one, he took credit for the strong economy and the low unemployment rate. How could he take credit for something on day one. These graphs clearly show Obama did all the work necessary to turn the economy around.

On Inauguration day, Trump was too busy lying about how big his Inauguration crowd was, and has been lying to us every since.

All Republicans are lying to you.  Mitch McConnell stated the deficit is so high that there will have to be cuts to Medicare and Medicaid. He forgot to tell you the $trillion+ tax cut to the rich and the massive military spending Republicans just passed,  produced the high deficit. McConnell said Obama couldn’t pick a Supreme Court Justice in an election year, but rushed Judge Cavanaugh through in this election year. Trump is sounding an alarm because of 5-7,000 Refugees coming from the South. He’s worried about an increase in crime, drugs, and gangs. He doesn’t tell you the majority of those refugees are women and children and ICE crime statistics (see Table 2), show that immigrants have a relatively low impact on crime compared to FBI crime statistics. Just compare these two data bases and you will clearly see we have more to be concerned about U.S. criminals than illegal aliens. Republicans are in full control of the House, Senate, and the Presidency. They don’t need a single Democrat vote, but still can’t get any major legislation passed that will help working people. No Jobs Bill, no increase in minimum wage, no meaningful tax cuts for the middle class, no Infrastructure Bill. They have spent the last 8 years trying to take away your healthcare, telling women what they can do with their own bodies, ignoring the school shooting deaths of our children, telling you who you should love, and doing the bidding of Corporate America. Can you see the pattern here? Republicans simply don’t tell the whole truth and even tell lies to advance their agenda. They don’t know how to govern. Hannity is right about the numbers, but he lied about whose fault it is. Republicans got us into the economic mess. He also leaves out the fact that Obama led us to almost complete economic recovery. The Declaration of Independence

This means something. No one man can diminish it.

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. 

These words found in the Declaration of Independence didn’t say all men except the President are equal. The President is equal under the Constitution of the United States. The following excerpts of the Constitution clearly state this:

THE CONSTITUTION OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA

ARTICLE 1   SECTION 3

The Senate of the United States shall be composed of two Senators from each State, chosen by the Legislature thereof, for six Years; and each Senator shall have one Vote.

Immediately after they shall be assembled in Consequence of the first Election, they shall be divided as equally as may be into three Classes. The Seats of the Senators of the first Class shall be vacated at the Expiration of the second Year, of the second Class at the Expiration of the fourth Year, and of the third Class at the Expiration of the sixth Year, so that one third may be chosen every second Year; and if Vacancies happen by Resignation, or otherwise, during the Recess of the Legislature of any State, the Executive thereof may make temporary Appointments until the next Meeting of the Legislature, which shall then fill such Vacancies.

The Vice President of the United States shall be President of the Senate, but shall have no Vote, unless they be equally divided.

The Senate shall have the sole Power to try all Impeachments. When sitting for that Purpose, they shall be on Oath or Affirmation. Judgment in Cases of Impeachment shall not extend further than to removal from Office, and disqualification to hold and enjoy any Office of honor, Trust or Profit under the United States: but the Party convicted shall nevertheless be liable and subject to Indictment, Trial, Judgment and Punishment, according to Law.

ARTICLE 2   SECTION 4

The President, Vice President and all civil Officers of the United States, shall be removed from Office on Impeachment for, and Conviction of, Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors.

There is considerable debate about what laws, if broken by the President, can he be Impeached for. It’s very simple. The President can be Impeached for any law he breaks that is a Misdemeanor or greater. Some examples are: Obstruction of justice, lying if under oath, violation of campaign finance laws, treason by inadequately defending the Constitution (Russia interfered with our Democracy and Trump did nothing initially), making money because you are President (Emoluments Clause), bribery, income tax evasion, etc. Trump could possibly be guilty of any or all of these laws. I believe if Trump is going to be Impeached, it will be related to his business dealings (money deals or taxes) or obstruction of justice relating to his dealings with Russia. I agree with Trump, proving collusion is less likely.

Now let’s assume the President is Impeached. According to Article 1 Section 3, he can only be discharged from office. Once he is removed from office though, he is no longer the President, and can now be tried in a state or local court of law, convicted, then punished according to the law. This point is clearly stated. I don’t know why lawmakers on the left and the right are confused about this point. Just because these issues don’t have precedence, doesn’t change the words in the Constitution. Everyone is simply overthinking things.

The bottom line is, no one knows what evidence the Special Prosecutor has, but the Constitution guarantees that President Trump is innocent until proven guilty. But make no mistake about it, President Trump is not above the law. We simply must wait until the investigation is over and, if necessary, have an Impeachment hearing. Prosecutors must take a sufficient amount of time to build a case, and even for us lowly civilians, it can sometimes take a long time. Imagine how large this investigation is. President Trump has done business all over the world. Lawyers on both sides knew the investigation was going to take a while at the very beginning. With all the indictments, guilty pleas, and cooperating witnesses, we are close to a conclusion of the investigation. Hold on to you seats, it’s gonna be a bumpy ride.

Our Politicians should have sprung into action immediately after Columbine in 1999, but they didn’t. There was nationwide moral outrage when children as young as 6 years old were murdered at Sandy Hook in 2012, and still they did nothing. Most recently, students were killed at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in ParklandFlorida, on Wednesday, February 14, 2018. About 122 school murders have occured over the 19 years since Columbine. Today, even though there is more than 90% nationwide support for sensible gun registration laws and the banning of assault weapons, President Trump and Congress are still falling short of those simple, but impactful changes. This is truly Moral Impotence, but more importantly, as our elected leaders, they are sworn to ensure our right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. When they don’t do everything possible to protect us from threats, foreign and domestic, in the face of clear and present dangers, they are commiting treason by ignoring their mandate given by the Constitution of the United State’s Declaration of Independence.

Politicians and many Republican voters argue that it is their right to own guns, and they are right. Guns are necessary for protection, to hunt, and recreation. Nobody wants to take guns used for these purposes. Assault rifles like the AR-15 are weapons of war and have no business being in the hands of the average citizen. It fires a high velocity round that is more lethal than a low velocity firearm, even if they inflict the exact same wound.  Another argument is that if strong gun laws are passed, it won’t stop  people who are determined to kill. Once again they are right, but stricter gun laws will reduce the amount of deaths caused by guns. The person determined to kill, will kill fewer people with a hand gun or hunting rifle than if he were firing an AR-15. So the goal of stricter gun laws is to reduce the loss of life and not take 2nd amendment rights. Any regulation is for our protection. Since more Airline inspections were mandated, there have been fewer deaths from Airline crashes. Seatbelts and airbags have reduced automobile deaths. Many cities have cleaner air because of regulation and that decreases healthcare disease and deaths. We have to choose. Do we protect your right to own an AR-15 that has no practical use for the average citizen, or protect the right of a child to live. I’m going to get out of my comfort zone for a moment. So, Politicians and Citizens, if you choose your right to own an AR-15 over the right of a child to live, you are an enemy of the state, morally bankrupt, a cold, heartless bastard, and a DUMB ASS!!!!

These days everyone is talking about Benghazi, the IRS, the AP scandal, and most recently the Government Shutdown. But I’m going to focus everyone on the most heinous, calculating, diabolical, criminal, and immoral scandal ever. This scandal started about 2008 when Barack Obama began his run for the Presidency, worsened in 2010 with a Republican House Majority, and is festering before our very eyes right now with this recent talk of President Obama lying about the Affordable Care Act. It is destroying the lives of millions of Americans and causing thousands, if not tens of thousands to die. The sad thing is that all this could be avoided with the stroke of a pen. Yes, it’s our Congressmen and Senators in Washington D.C. who are deliberately refusing to pass a Jobs Bill with total disregard for what it’s doing to the American Economy or the mental and physical toll it’s taking on the American people. How can Congress be so callous and indifferent?

The origins are clear. U.S. lawmakers have always had differences, but now their disputes have risen to Hatfield and McCoy levels. Battlegrounds were drawn shortly after President Obama was elected. Here is a video of Mitch McConnell giving Republicans their marching orders:

Everything President Obama proposed Republicans were against. When President Obama agreed with Republicans, they changed their position and now were against. President Obama sent a Jobs Bill to the U.S. House of Representatives and Republicans never put it on the floor of the House for a vote. They instead voted 35+ times to Repeal Obamacare knowing that Obama would veto it if it reached his desk. Republicans won the House in 2010 on their platform of creating jobs. To date, they have not produced a Jobs Bill. Democrats are not completely innocent, but when they stand their ground, it’s usually for something that’s good for all Americans. Things like, everybody pay their fair share, don’t cut Medicare, or let’s create jobs. For Republicans it’s simple, if it helps Obama, they are against it.  Since Republicans couldn’t prevent President Obama’s reelection, they now simply want to smear his legacy with talks of scandal. Democratic motivation is, what’s best for the country and Republican motivation is HATE. There is no other explanation. Republicans hate President Obama so much they are deliberately willing to sabotage the American Economy and destroy the health and wellbeing of millions of Americans just to make Obama fail. This is criminal and immoral.

Americans working is the only stimulus the economy needs now. It’s a miracle the economy is doing as well as it is in light of serious obstruction by Republicans against Obama. Yet, here is a short list of what President Obama accomplished despite all that obstruction: The Unemployment rate is 7.5%, the Stock Market is over 15,000, children with pre-existing conditions have health insurance, women get equal pay, Gays have the right to marry in many states, people get help with their mortgages, and the American auto industry is alive and well. Despite all this, Republicans are still saying how bad the economy is and how President Obama is the worst President ever. Really? Can anyone say George W. Bush?

Let’s summarize why Republican obstruction is the worst scandal of all time.  Republicans are deliberately and with malice obstructing a Jobs Bill. Without people working, less money is pumped back into the economy, slowing economic recovery. When people lose their jobs, they lose healthcare insurance. When household incomes are stressed, people wait until the last moment to seek medical help. That help is usually in the form of an Emergency Room visit which is the most expensive healthcare available. This puts an enormous burden on the economy for America. For the patients, if they are lucky they will get a bill they can’t pay. The unlucky ones die because they waited too late to go to the ER. Death comes in other forms too like, suicide, crime, and accidents of all kinds because of neglected repairs like fixing bad brakes on cars. Americans are needlessly dying every day because Congress is too busy playing politics. The following link shows a strong association with Unemployment and death.

So you decide America. Which is worse?

  1. Obama covering up Benghazi to assure his reelection.
  2. The IRS making it harder to get tax free status for Tea Party organizations.
  3. The CIA and or the White House bullying the AP to temporarily hold a story.
  4. Republicans deliberately not voting on President Obama’s Jobs Bill and not creating one of their own resulting in thousands of deaths.

If you picked either of the first three over number 4, then you are cold, callous, calculating and hateful just like Republican members of Congress. Because you can think about the suffering and deaths of millions of Americans with indifference, you are also evil. For those of you who are religious, you know what that means to you.

For those of you who truly see that Unemployment, in the face of deliberate Republican inactivity and obstruction, is the worst scandal ever and  Lawmakers must be held accountable.  If you also believe it is the most important issue facing America now, please read my Petition.
