IT’S MUELLER TIME

First things first. The Special Counsel’s Report on Russian meddling in our Democratic process and whether President Trump committed collusion or obstruction is complete. NEITHER CONGRESS OR THE PUBLIC KNOWS EXACTLY WHAT’S IN THE REPORT!!!!!!

Attorney General Barr stated in his summary that there was no collusion, the charge of Trump’s obstruction of justice was inconclusive, and regarding obstruction of justice, President Trump was NOT EXONERATED. Keep in mind that Barr is nothing more than the FOX GUARDING THE HENHOUSE when you take into account the unsolicited memo he wrote to audition for the Attorney General job. That being the case, his summary really has no credibility.

Of course President Trump’s response to Barr’s report was a half truth (“there was no collusion”) and a lie (“he was completely and totally exonerated”). Because of Barr’s bias for the President, the collusion question is still on the table, and even Barr, President Trump’s main man, stated that regarding the obstruction charge, Trump was NOT EXONERATED. Trump can’t help himself. Lying is like breathing for him.

Now here is my take on all of this. Everybody needs to calm down. We need to save our energy for when Muller’s report is made public and not a moment before, unless it is not made public. If that happens, then we should go nuclear!!!!!

The Declaration of Independence

This means something. No one man can diminish it.

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. 

These words found in the Declaration of Independence didn’t say all men except the President are equal. The President is equal under the Constitution of the United States. The following excerpts of the Constitution clearly state this:

THE CONSTITUTION OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA

ARTICLE 1   SECTION 3

The Senate of the United States shall be composed of two Senators from each State, chosen by the Legislature thereof, for six Years; and each Senator shall have one Vote.

Immediately after they shall be assembled in Consequence of the first Election, they shall be divided as equally as may be into three Classes. The Seats of the Senators of the first Class shall be vacated at the Expiration of the second Year, of the second Class at the Expiration of the fourth Year, and of the third Class at the Expiration of the sixth Year, so that one third may be chosen every second Year; and if Vacancies happen by Resignation, or otherwise, during the Recess of the Legislature of any State, the Executive thereof may make temporary Appointments until the next Meeting of the Legislature, which shall then fill such Vacancies.

No Person shall be a Senator who shall not have attained to the Age of thirty Years, and been nine Years a Citizen of the United States, and who shall not, when elected, be an Inhabitant of that State for which he shall be chosen.

The Vice President of the United States shall be President of the Senate, but shall have no Vote, unless they be equally divided.

The Senate shall choose their other Officers, and also a President pro tempore, in the Absence of the Vice President, or when he shall exercise the Office of President of the United States.

The Senate shall have the sole Power to try all Impeachments. When sitting for that Purpose, they shall be on Oath or Affirmation. When the President of the United States is tried, the Chief Justice shall preside: And no Person shall be convicted without the Concurrence of two thirds of the Members present.

Judgment in Cases of Impeachment shall not extend further than to removal from Office, and disqualification to hold and enjoy any Office of honor, Trust or Profit under the United States: but the Party convicted shall nevertheless be liable and subject to Indictment, Trial, Judgment and Punishment, according to Law.

ARTICLE 2   SECTION 4

The President, Vice President and all civil Officers of the United States, shall be removed from Office on Impeachment for, and Conviction of, Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors.

There is considerable debate about what laws, if broken by the President, can he be Impeached for. It’s very simple. The President can be Impeached for any law he breaks that is a Misdemeanor or greater. Some examples are: Obstruction of justice, lying if under oath, violation of campaign finance laws, treason by inadequately defending the Constitution (Russia interfered with our Democracy and Trump did nothing initially), making money because you are President (Emoluments Clause), bribery, income tax evasion, etc. Trump could possibly be guilty of any or all of these laws. I believe if Trump is going to be Impeached, it will be related to his business dealings (money deals or taxes) or obstruction of justice relating to his dealings with Russia. I agree with Trump, proving collusion is less likely.

Now let’s assume the President is Impeached. According to Article 1 Section 3, he can only be discharged from office. Once he is removed from office though, he is no longer the President, and can now be tried in a state or local court of law, convicted, then punished according to the law. This point is clearly stated. I don’t know why lawmakers on the left and the right are confused about this point. Just because these issues don’t have precedence, doesn’t change the words in the Constitution. Everyone is simply overthinking things.

The bottom line is, no one knows what evidence the Special Prosecutor has, but the Constitution guarantees that President Trump is innocent until proven guilty. But make no mistake about it, President Trump is not above the law. We simply must wait until the investigation is over and, if necessary, have an Impeachment hearing. Prosecutors must take a sufficient amount of time to build a case, and even for us lowly civilians, it can sometimes take a long time. Imagine how large this investigation is. President Trump has done business all over the world. Lawyers on both sides knew the investigation was going to take a while at the very beginning. With all the indictments, guilty pleas, and cooperating witnesses, we are close to a conclusion of the investigation. Hold on to you seats, it’s gonna be a bumpy ride.

These days everyone is talking about Benghazi, the IRS, the AP scandal, and most recently the Government Shutdown. But I’m going to focus everyone on the most heinous, calculating, diabolical, criminal, and immoral scandal ever. This scandal started about 2008 when Barack Obama began his run for the Presidency, worsened in 2010 with a Republican House Majority, and is festering before our very eyes right now with this recent talk of President Obama lying about the Affordable Care Act. It is destroying the lives of millions of Americans and causing thousands, if not tens of thousands to die. The sad thing is that all this could be avoided with the stroke of a pen. Yes, it’s our Congressmen and Senators in Washington D.C. who are deliberately refusing to pass a Jobs Bill with total disregard for what it’s doing to the American Economy or the mental and physical toll it’s taking on the American people. How can Congress be so callous and indifferent?

The origins are clear. U.S. lawmakers have always had differences, but now their disputes have risen to Hatfield and McCoy levels. Battlegrounds were drawn shortly after President Obama was elected. Here is a video of Mitch McConnell giving Republicans their marching orders:

Everything President Obama proposed Republicans were against. When President Obama agreed with Republicans, they changed their position and now were against. President Obama sent a Jobs Bill to the U.S. House of Representatives and Republicans never put it on the floor of the House for a vote. They instead voted 35+ times to Repeal Obamacare knowing that Obama would veto it if it reached his desk. Republicans won the House in 2010 on their platform of creating jobs. To date, they have not produced a Jobs Bill. Democrats are not completely innocent, but when they stand their ground, it’s usually for something that’s good for all Americans. Things like, everybody pay their fair share, don’t cut Medicare, or let’s create jobs. For Republicans it’s simple, if it helps Obama, they are against it.  Since Republicans couldn’t prevent President Obama’s reelection, they now simply want to smear his legacy with talks of scandal. Democratic motivation is, what’s best for the country and Republican motivation is HATE. There is no other explanation. Republicans hate President Obama so much they are deliberately willing to sabotage the American Economy and destroy the health and wellbeing of millions of Americans just to make Obama fail. This is criminal and immoral.

Americans working is the only stimulus the economy needs now. It’s a miracle the economy is doing as well as it is in light of serious obstruction by Republicans against Obama. Yet, here is a short list of what President Obama accomplished despite all that obstruction: The Unemployment rate is 7.5%, the Stock Market is over 15,000, children with pre-existing conditions have health insurance, women get equal pay, Gays have the right to marry in many states, people get help with their mortgages, and the American auto industry is alive and well. Despite all this, Republicans are still saying how bad the economy is and how President Obama is the worst President ever. Really? Can anyone say George W. Bush?

Let’s summarize why Republican obstruction is the worst scandal of all time.  Republicans are deliberately and with malice obstructing a Jobs Bill. Without people working, less money is pumped back into the economy, slowing economic recovery. When people lose their jobs, they lose healthcare insurance. When household incomes are stressed, people wait until the last moment to seek medical help. That help is usually in the form of an Emergency Room visit which is the most expensive healthcare available. This puts an enormous burden on the economy for America. For the patients, if they are lucky they will get a bill they can’t pay. The unlucky ones die because they waited too late to go to the ER. Death comes in other forms too like, suicide, crime, and accidents of all kinds because of neglected repairs like fixing bad brakes on cars. Americans are needlessly dying every day because Congress is too busy playing politics. The following link shows a strong association with Unemployment and death.

So you decide America. Which is worse?

  1. Obama covering up Benghazi to assure his reelection.
  2. The IRS making it harder to get tax free status for Tea Party organizations.
  3. The CIA and or the White House bullying the AP to temporarily hold a story.
  4. Republicans deliberately not voting on President Obama’s Jobs Bill and not creating one of their own resulting in thousands of deaths.

If you picked either of the first three over number 4, then you are cold, callous, calculating and hateful just like Republican members of Congress. Because you can think about the suffering and deaths of millions of Americans with indifference, you are also evil. For those of you who are religious, you know what that means to you.

For those of you who truly see that Unemployment, in the face of deliberate Republican inactivity and obstruction, is the worst scandal ever and  Lawmakers must be held accountable.  If you also believe it is the most important issue facing America now, please read my Petition. GOOD NEWS, SAD REPUBLICANS

When are Republican voters going to jump ship and vote for Obama? What’s it going to take? The Republican party has obstructed budget and jobs legislation and in effect, kept millions of Americans jobless and downgraded US credit, they want to destroy the only Healthcare bill that will save millions of lives, Union bust, overturn Roe v Wade, tell you who to marry, use transvaginal probes for Ultrasound to shame women into not having an abortion, refuse to close loopholes or raise taxes on the richest Americans and Corporation while at the same time cutting programs for the middle class and poor, and do everything in their power to make the President of the United States fail. When the President fails, America fails. Now when there is good news, Unemployment at 7.8%, instead of the Republicans being happy for America, they say that number was fabricated. Since when did good news for America translate into a reason to be upset and make wild accusations about number fudging? Since 2010 as you have seen, Republicans avoided jobs legislation as promised and focused on social legislation based on religious ideology which is Unconstitutional. You know that separation of church and state thing.

Republican policy and obstruction is out in the open for everyone to see. Can anyone in good consciousness vote Republican, knowing that millions of Americans are needlessly suffering and will suffer as a direct result of Republican policy and obstruction and an obsessive drive to make the President of the United States fail. Fortunately, God don’t like ugly. Despite the Republican’s best efforts of obstruction, President Obama has some remarkable achievements credited to his first term, and Americans can finally see that the country is headed in the right direction. True Americans want America to succeed no matter who is President. Anyone who can’t see how harmful and dangerous to America this Republican strategy is can’t be truly patriotic.

 P.S. On that last sentence, I really wanted to say: “must be truly ignorant, stupid, blind, deaf, mathematically challenged, in a coma, cold blooded, heartless, or racist.” Pick your poison.

REPUBLICAN HUBRIS

Republicans, you don’t get to say that President Obama is a President whose policies didn’t work, he made the economy worse, and he is the worse President ever, when you conspired to, then literally blocked almost all of his legislative efforts. You did this deliberately and with malice simply to make the first black President of the United States fail, and you set this plan in motion even before he took office. This disrespect for the office of the Presidency is unprecedented and can only be classified as Racist. Your obstructing is hurting millions of Americans and you don’t seem to care about those people. To force the failure of an American President and thereby the American Government, and additionally harm the American people, is not only shameful, but it is treason.

Not only do Republicans refuse to tax the wealthy and huge corporations, but they also refuse to eliminate tax loopholes for things like jets. Yet, at the same time, they propose cutting benefits and services to the rest of America’s population. They promised jobs and won many offices in Congress and in States across the U.S. in 2010. Since 2010, they are blocking President Obama’s Jobs Bill, busting unions, legislating abortion and contraception, denying gay rights, and proposing transvaginal Ultrasounds. Some of the Republican proposals are clearly based on their religious ideology, which is a clear violation of our Constitutional law to have separation of church and state. Where is their jobs legislation? Where is their budget that is fair for most of Americans? I agree we need a balanced budget, but not on the backs of the poor and middle class. These people have sacrificed enough already. There are plenty of places to start trimming the budget without starting with the American people.  Here are some ideas, stop current wars, make the wealthy and large corporations pay their fair share, stop approving projects like bridges to nowhere, and set up a nonpartisan Enforcement Bureau to look for and eliminate fraud and abuse at every level in the Government and the private sector.

Republicans assume they are the only party that can heal the economy and create jobs, but they want to do it with “trickledown economics”, an old idea that has never worked. They are too arrogant to adopt an economic policy that worked under President Clinton’s Administration, and one that President Obama is trying to emulate. Here is a very important point that all American’s need to understand. We are operating under a Republican economy. During the debt crisis, President Obama and Mr. Boehner hammered out a budget compromise that was soundly rejected by the Republican House majority. Afterwards, Mr. Boehner stated that Republicans got 98% of what they wanted. From that point on, the performance of the economy is directly attributed to Republican policy and not President Obama. This current economy is 98% Republican and 2% President Obama. With this Republican win, make no mistake about it, this is a Republican economy, and our credit was downgraded and the recovery slowed. President Obama can’t be blamed if the Republicans got 98% of what they wanted. So what’s wrong with our current economy and why is it so sluggish? This Republican economy is not fair or balanced. It’s not fair in the sense that Corporations like GE can reduce their taxes to 0% and get a 3 billion dollar tax credit check from the government. Corporations and wealthy individuals should always have to pay something, at least 5%-20% and not 0%. Their tax credits should only reduce their income tax liability to established minimum levels to be determined, and not below 0%. It’s unbalanced because to truly have a balanced budget, you need budget cuts done with a scalpel and not a meat clever, sensible spending, and new revenues (everyone pays a fair share). Of course the new revenues are taxes and the Republicans signed a contract that said they will never raise taxes. Really, that’s like saying, “I’m never going to put any money from my paycheck into savings in case there is an unexpected financial crisis.” That kind of thinking is crazy. Budget cuts and reduction in spending only help prevent a debt increase but does nothing to reduce current debt. New revenue can help pay down the debt. This is simple math and Republicans get an F.

Finally, Republicans don’t get to say what’s wrong with the economy and what’s wrong with President Obama’s policies without offering solutions. I’d like to know how Republicans would have fixed the 2008 recession without a stimulus. I can’t imagine what they would have done instead. FDR’s stimulus worked during the great depression and President Obama’s stimulus prevented a depression. It would have worked better if it was larger, and that’s something the Republicans would not allow. What are the Republican plans to fix the economy? To date, they have given us no clues. Republicans need to clearly outline their plan to improve the current economy. Just saying that President Obama has failed, which was a recurrent theme at your 2012 Convention in Tampa, doesn’t help anyone to understand how you can do a better job. At least we know President Obama can stop an economic disaster from getting worse. Yes, the price of gas is rising and unemployment is above 8%. But before you blame President Obama for all our economic woes, remember he was facing a Republican Congress that was doing everything they could to make him fail, and yet, he has still done some remarkable things. He has passed health care reform (it’s only negative is the individual mandate which is much like making you have car insurance, and that didn’t make America crazy), lowered taxes on Americans making less than $250,000, got equal pay for women, got credit card reforms, initiated banking and finance reforms to help prevent greedy businessmen from gambling with the money of the American people, helped millions who are upside down on their mortgage, kept student loan interest rates low, got our troops out of Iraq, gave small business tax credit incentives, was tough at the U.S. border yet compassionate with illegals already in our country, got the stock market up over 12,000, helped job growth consistently increase for over 20+ months (-750,000 to 100,000+/month), gave dignity to the gay rights struggle, and eliminated Osama Bin Laden. There are many more things the Obama administration has accomplished, and most were very good for the American people. Just use Google to get a full list. During your search, you will also find sites that adversely criticize his accomplishments. When a site doesn’t give President Obama credit for anything he did, even the things that were good for the American people, you know that’s a site you cannot trust. Both parties use creative license with the truth, but the Republicans do far more obstructing, outright lying, and are malicious about their half-truths. These tactics have effectively brought Government to a grinding halt. An example of this is that since 2007, Republicans had over 360 filibusters in the Senate. That’s almost more than all previous years combined, and this rate dramatically increased after President Obama was elected. Don’t take my word for it. Of course I would like for you to vote for President Obama, but what I really want is for you to do your homework and make an informed decision. Balancing the budget is very important, but not at the expense of making more people suffer. People should always come before money. Let the Republicans know that in November.
